Mini-Stroms…

So I tried a little experiment the other day — made myself little strombolis. Worked out pretty well. :) Someone may well have a recipe out there for this already but I didn’t know where to find it… so I did it on my own. :)

I will warn you that the following photographs you are about to witness are NOT professional at all. HAHA! One of these days I’ll shell out the $$ for a good DSLR camera. A girl can dream right?

On to the recipe!

Mini-Stroms…

Start out with the  ingredients that you want in your mini-stromboli. I used the reduced-fat crescent rolls and turkey pepperoni to keep the calorie count down on the recipe.

Before getting started, pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.

Roll out 1/2 of the crescent rolls on a greased pan.

Place the ingredients that you want to have in your strom’s. I choose pepperoni only on mine this time, however next time I may add some other things like onion and green pepper.

Cover with cheese — I tried to be neat about this, but failed miserably.

Place the other 1/2 of the crescent rolls over what has been prepared and use a fork to press the edges together.

I decided that they looked a little “unfinished” so I sprinked some Mrs. Dash – Tomato Basil Garlic  on top of each.

It’s ready to go into the oven now!

I got the pizza sauce measured out in a bowl while the strom’s were cooking. About a 1/2 cup of sauce total is perfect for all 4.

Bake for 11-12 minutes… or until they are golden brown.

When they are done cooking, let cool for a couple minutes and then serve with sauce.

And there you have it. Yummy Stroms that are totally kid friendly to make too. (As you can see from my pictures, I could have easily had a kid here helping me!)
